As an extension to the yearly conference about the tourism industry in Denmark, hosted by @danskerhverv (Danish Chamber of Commerce), Nordic Guide Academy invited all guides to an exclusive event at Villa Copenhagen ✨

An exciting agenda awaited all the attendees, where the speakers Lars Ramme Nielsen, Director of Dansk Erhverv - Turisme, Kultur & Oplevelse, Thomas Høy, CEO at DMC Nordic and Charlotte Emmery Head of 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆, introduced the guest to trends and challenges in the industry, the importance of expertise, and future plans of Nordic Guide Academy 🎤

In addition there were vivid and fun presentations by two Nordic Guide Academy Guides about 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘯, and lastly the introduction of a brand new 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬…

The evening started with bubbles and sushi and ended with a glass of wine and networking 🍣🥂

What an evening, and what a privilege to participate in shaping the future of the guide industry in Denmark!

Wearing blue slippers inside the castle to protect the delicate floors, and carrying blue glass hearts in Aalborg 🩵 handmade by a guide student to ease the nerves before exams.

We are happy to announce that everyone passed the castle tour exam in Copenhagen and the evening walking tour exam in Aalborg 👏

… and in early December, we had the pleasure of welcoming the team from @berghansen_as to see this year’s tree and explore what this historic city has to offer 🎄

From cosy strolls at the Christmas Market, to painting edible marzipan figures by hand in the charming setting of Tallinn’s oldest café @kohvikmaiasmokk, and making personalized leather bracelets at @stellasoomlais, to stepping into a sunny summer day of Tallinn in 1939 through VR glasses, the group really got a taste of the 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 & 𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 Tallinn offers 🇪🇪

Our city tour was led by a gentleman from the era of the 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (1991) and a lantern-carrying guide (the sun set around 3:30 p.m🕯️), sharing interesting stories from the past.

In addition to the cultural sights, we visited some of our favorite MICE venues: The 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗯 in the former power plant, and the 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺, where meetings or celebrations take place right next to a real submarine.

As the Estonian saying goes, “𝘼 𝙝𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙮 𝙗𝙖𝙜 𝙬𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩”: Our dining experiences included a homelike Estonian food experience at @tore.toit, the medieval restaurant @olde_hansa, the seaside @ocean11_restoran, and – as the cherry on top – drinks at Tallinn’s highest bar, @issei.tallinn (thank you for the invitation, @radissoncollectiontallinn!) , followed by dinner at restaurant @restoranmekk 🍽️

This Saturday marked the end of our 2025 cruise season in Copenhagen, as the 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 from Saga Cruises anchored for a full day in the city⚓️
 
Guests were welcomed by Santa Claus, who arrived on a cargo bike in true Danish style 🇩🇰 They enjoyed guided tours to Christiansborg Palace and the National Museum, where they experienced an 18th Century Christmas at The Victorian Home 🎄
 
As a highlight, many guests visited the wonderful Tivoli Gardens during the magical Santa Lucia celebrations, where we had arranged exclusive entry🕯️

Experiences like this show why Copenhagen is ideal for Christmas cruises, and we look forward to sharing these festive traditions with future guests🌲

In true DMC Nordic style, we brought together our colleagues from all our local offices for the annual gathering; this year hosted by our fantastic team in 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 🇱🇹 What followed was three inspiring, activity-packed days!

From a warm Lithuanian-style welcome dinner (local dance moves included🕺) to our conference sessions outlining plans and goals for 2026, team meetings, an AI workshop, a city walk, a music quiz, a gala dinner, and even a graffiti workshop - our teams connected, collaborated, and enjoyed a well-deserved break from the everyday routine. For once, they stepped into the role of our clients and simply enjoyed a well-orchestrated program.

Two weeks ago, our team created an exclusive, tailor-made incentive group program filled with authentic local experiences and true Danish hygge 🕯️

They kicked things off with a 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟𝐟-𝐭𝐡𝐞-𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧-𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫 through the charming old town - complete with delicious tastings and hidden gems only the locals know.
 
Following was a 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐢𝐜𝐞-𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 on a privatized winter island in Copenhagen Harbour, followed by warm and tasty picas enjoyed together by the water 🧊
 
Next up was a serene and scenic 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫, gliding through Copenhagen’s historic canals in small boats that offered the perfect slow-travel moment 🚤
 
A major highlight was the 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 to Royal Copenhagen, where the group tried their hand at 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 - an art form with roots all the way back to 1775.
They also had the chance to admire the 𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬, a beloved Danish tradition since 1963 🎄
 
We wrapped up with plenty of festive spirit at the 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬, filled with lights, laughter, and holiday magic ✨

As the exclusive partner along the entire route after 𝑰𝑳𝑴𝑨 departed Amsterdam on July 17, we handled five turn-arounds in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo & Reykjavik (twice), as well as no fewer than 26 calls in 22 different ports during the five weeks 𝑰𝑳𝑴𝑨 spent in the Nordic region.

From the initial trainings of hospitality staff, to organization of exclusive tour programs along the route, pre-& post cruise hotel stays, private transfer services, port security arrangements, and a dedicated DMC Nordic staff member on board the yacht on part of the route, everyone involved showed a lot of dedication to meeting the very high standards of the Ritz-Carlton brand.

Yesterday our Copenhagen based team waved goodbye to the last ship of the season at Oceankaj in Copenhagen ⚓ 🇩🇰

The ship Rotterdam from Holland America Line marked the close of a busy and successful summer season 2025 ☀️
